| NP, Valgar. This section is titled "Arcadia Data Base" and is found in the first quarter of the mag. In this latest issue it's on page 59. There's also the top 20 listing for cockpit style games (i.e. dedicated cabinet; like music-gun-racing-strategy game). |

What was the top Gun game? Is it possible to hook up a gun (I've seen them for sale) to the Astro City cabinets?
Virtua Cop 3 is probably really expensive, I read they released an updated version (the first version you could max out the score easily it seems). _________________ Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun.

The top was Time Crisis 3, followed closely by House of the Dead III. I believe HotD IV just came out in December (Lindbergh hardware), so it's probably tops now.
Yes, you can play gun games in your Astro. The gun is connected to PCB via a seperate harness. You might have to hook up a different connector to the gun depending on the game. The ones I have seen use JST type connectors (like you see on Sanwa_Seimitsu sticks, stereo connectors, etc). The monitor refresh rate is not an issue here. You'll need an I/O board as well for most of the modern gun games, as they are JVS standard.
As for Virtua Cop 3, I've never seen it. If there was an update released already, then the old should be found cheaply. Then again...I'm not familiar with VC3's hardware(Chihiro?). In that case it would be the disc only that is needed for upgrade, so the operator would likely keep the necessary hardware. In other words, finding the whole setup without the cabinet would be difficult and expensive. Probably not for long though, as Lindbergh comes into popularity. Still, finding the gun game w/o cabinet has always been difficult compared to a standard game PCB. Eh..I'm rambling now. |

| Yeah, I used to wonder about that Power Smash 2 thing myself. I think it comes down to the game being so damn good, first off, and mass appealing to both sexes. Never seen any tournament reports in Arcadia, strangely. |
